Taking Back the Blog

@ 14:13 - Author: Bekka

The story goes like this: I have a website called glostix.  Kev likes the name.  He jokes about getting his own website with a similar sounding name, so we can be a matched pair.  I say, well hey, why bother with that when you could just be part of glostix too?  And he’s like, oh hey, ok! So I set glostix up to be a joint-blog, with a shiny new layout, rearranging all of the pages (permanently jacking up orders and numbers of said pages), and WHAM!  We has a blog.  Except… nothing.  Nudge after careful nudge, prods, prompts, strong hints and suggestions, nothing.  Which has brought me to this day, when I just sort of gave up.

So now everything is back the way it was.  Leading horses to water, etc.

In other news, I still can’t find a job.  I’ve thrown out countless applications and resumes, gotten callbacks, interviewed, did my thang for nothing.  I’m starting to worry less and less about it, though.  Even though it pisses me off that everyone is looking for “experience” but no one is willing to give a girl a chance to GET experience, it’s not worth stressing myself over.  I wish I figured that out before I started smoking again, because now I have to quit all over again, which is surely going to make my “don’t stress it” attitude hard to stick with. Still, not stressing the lack of work.  If we can survive til the start of next semester, we’ll be just fine.

    Hey Palmer-butt,

That’s sad that you couldn’t get your man to pull his blog-act together. All that effort. And I didn’t know you’d gone to all that trouble either so I didn’t get to see it and admire it’s shininess!!

I have a boy with a blog already – shupface.com. He uses it too. I like that. :)

Anyway… maybe you could be looking more widely for work that doesn’t require experience? Or as much experience? I’m sure you’re trying all the avenues you possibly can. Good luck with it.

    *sends you love*

I think that’s pretty much what needs to be done if you want a bloggingboy. Goodness knows I’ve heard many other ladies push and prod, just to throw their hands up in defeat months later.

Ah well. It was a good fantasy.

Oh man, I am looking for jobs that shouldn’t be picky on experience. Freakin’ retail joints, and “students welcome” positions. I don’t know what sort of game they’re playing, but apparently I never got a memo with the rules.

Gah. Retail. I’d hire you, you’re so hawt you’d sell clothes like hot cakes. Yes siiir! But have you tried the avenue of death? Telephone work? I did a couple of years of market research and got paid well for it. I don’t recommend sales because I don’t want you to kill yourself, but market research I found to be barable and occasionally enjoyable.

Anyway… I’m still all squee that you guys are living together. I hope life is treating you both well.

    Lovies!
