Super-Caffeinated Homework-Finished Lily Party!

September 24th, 2008 | Category: school, stuff

Oi.  After… what, four hours of stressin’, I think, I finally have the article assignment finished.  It’s not as if I intended to leave it to the last second… no, I wanted to do it this weekend.  Unfortunately, this weekend was filled with other things such as German, emo, and making falls which COULD have been put back to a later date, but you know what?  I wanted the damn things to be done, so I did it.  Back to the topic, though, neither is it that the assignment was particularly difficult… the only problem was that it just started off badly.  My first area of research turned up nothing… by which I mean, turned up useless articles which I did not find out were utterly useless until I sat down four hours ago.  So I had to start over again with a new topic, with major printer problems (which just fucked me off after having so many Acrobat problems earlier today with the lappy).  And on top of all the technical problems was the fact that I am more than likely coming down with the creeping crud that has been going around campus AND home.  I’m tired, dizzy, my throat burns, and my head isn’t too nice, either…

So yes, I was (and am) quite a mess.  Thank holy lovin’ fuck I can come home and stress and panic and cry and wail and get nice, calm, caring support from the Kevbot.  I went from freaking out to the point of nearly flipping into a nervous breakdown to being on the ball (mostly, save for my goldfish-like attention span).  Gotta love that.  Gotta gotta.  Gotta love random flwrs, too.  If there was ever a day I needed lillies, today was that very day.  It may be by accident that he always hits it when I REALLY need the cheering up… but I’m going to say it’s intuition anyway ;P

But all is done, and I am finally satisfied.  I can now devote tomorrow’s break to catching up on Micro.  Should also probably see if there’s still a desk position available at the OUTsource… I need to get those four hours in… and desking would do it.

Other news?  I got a wicked bitchin’ new monitor… a nice 22″ widescreen dealie.  My original plan was to get two 17″s for a dual set-up, but meh.  This wound up being cheaper.  And it is fantastic!  Also fantastic, my ThinkGeek order came in the mail today.  I know have CAMP SPOONFORKNIFE.  Why the fuck do I need that, you might ask?  Cos of tuna, duh.  Also nabbed the Ladies’ T-Qualizer, OMG PWNIES, and a SpazzStick.  Party!

It’s Christmas!

September 06th, 2008 | Category: personal, stuff

Or something like it, anyway.  I now have in my hands the replacement Sony Ericsson w580i, its case, a nifty bluetooth headset (Motorola HT820), my external HD (WesternDigital My Passport Essential 160GB), and the case for that as well.  Still two things left to come in (which I’m not hurting for), plus my ecology books (one of which I am hurting for), but most of the absolute essentials are in, so I am a happy girl.  Just wish my media files would transfer to the HD faster.  FAAAASTER.  That’s what I get for being a music junkie, I guess.

On the subject of holiday bliss, though… I’m faced with the feeling of not even wanting to be around here for Christmas.  It’s rather odd… every other time I’ve tried to be away for the holiday, I’ve failed miserably (then again, the circumstances for which I was being away were pretty fucking fail, too).  But now, the very thought of being all ha-ha-happy-christmas with fresh young SNERTy attitudes makes me feel rather ill.  I know, yes, I was the same way at one time, but for the moment, in my bitter elderly cane-shaking fury, I must say I think teenagers are only good for one thing: asking me “would you like to try a combo meal today?”

Maybe my mind will change with time, but the idea of just getting a hotel room and declaring it “Fuck All” Day sounds mighty fine.

Concerned But Powerless

August 26th, 2008 | Category: stuff

Meh. I’m too easily bugged by little things. But I suppose it is kind of alright to be able to claim that I know how it feels to be the Queen of England.

Phone line is fixed, should hopefully be keeping connections for longer than before. Got a better laptop case. Read: backpack with laptop compartment rather than laptop case. Had a sloppy ass-burrito for lunch which keeps coming back for a second taste (*urp*), so I’m kind of chipper. Also got a whole round of new earrings for a buck a pair. Eat my steel, meatheads:

Earrings
Kind of messy, but I like the weight.  *leans over*
Laundry must be done, then dinner (taco salad… the mexican never ends!).  I sure would like to find my SW book seeing as that class is TOMORROW zomg.  Uhhh I so don’t want to do this.  I so don’t want to go back.  Why can’t I just be a trophy wife?  Just smile and look pretty?  Yeah no, I have to do everything the hard way…

I Can Has!

August 21st, 2008 | Category: stuff

I can has most of my textbooks for next semester for $350. Erm… that is to say, I spent that amount, and I still have more books I need to track down. Should’ve charged more on my Plus card, but what are you gonna do, eh? I figured that was a good estimate… bleuh. After exhausting my Plus acct, I went to Half Price Books to track down a German-English dictionary (yaaay!) and found one (Yaaaay!) for six bucks (YAAAY!). And also a copy of Thom Yorke’s The Eraser for $7. Which was fair enough. I sure as hell wouldn’t have paid full price for that load of fart noise, but it’s a fair price to pay if I just want to have it in my collection and be a good little Radiohead fan. Hmmyep.

I has also acquired my SHOOS which are dang snappy. I sense problems out of the right heel, but that ain’t nothing a pre-emptive blister bandage won’t fix. Many thanks and kisses and huggles to Kev for getting my feet all set-up for class :3 Me schmuvs! *haerts*

kitty creepers!

Hmm… wot else… new case for my laptop… Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on DVD for $3… erm… put my parking permit application through… actually yeah, I think that about covers it. So yeaaah, it’s been a pretty good week. Expensive assed week.
