Ripped the dash out of my car. What? Totally not rash. No, I was intending to put in the deck from my old car, since the current cd player is going all “fuck you” on me every whoopstitch. So I rip out the dash, which takes about an hour and a half (stupid-assed new-cars making you take out the entire goddamned front-end to get to ANYTHING), finally get to the deal, unscrew the deal, and no, all my hoping and wishing didn’t do any good, because I did need a new adaptor. So off I go to Wal Mart (nothing), Sugarshack (nothing) and finally AutoZone, where the fellah kind of chuckles when I tell him it’s an ’02 Cavalier (and starts going on and on about what a pain in the ass that dash is). He checks his computers and, thanks to Chevy and/or Delco being a bunch of fags, the adaptor would cost $100, because it’s special order.

Naturally, I’m all, “fuck that”. So I get to try and wire it myself. DUN DUN DUNNNN. I’ve never wired anything in my life, so this should be fun. Dad found the info online as to what wire was what (cost him $5… apparently post-2000 Cavalier stereo schematics rank up there with the Colonel’s Secret Recipe). Now I just have to figure out what wire which goes to this and that goes to what on the plug-dealie. At any rate, I have to get it all put back together tomorrow, cos of needing my dash to be in a somewhat-together position for driving to finals next week. Joy and jubilee.

Now, to start on my German homework. Last homework of the year. *sniffle*

I just realized that my plans of doing NaNoWriMo this year are probably insta-fail, considering my week’s Tgiving Vacay.  Kev would probably gladly give me the time and space needed to bang out the required pages while I’m down, but the problem would be my willingness.  I mean… he’d be there… and well yeah, snuggles would take precedence.  Or maybe I’d get (un)lucky and he wouldn’t be able to nail much of a Vacay for himself, and I could pump the word-count while he’s at work?  Hmm…

Not that I’m expecting to finish by the deadline.  It’d be nice, and I’m gonna try for it, but I’m not going to make myself crazy trying to get there.

I do already have some ideas rolling around in my head.  There’s a story I’ve been wanting to start since the start of the year.  I wrote the Prologue and two pages of the first chapter, and haven’t touched it since, even though I love the idea.  Some situations are coming clearer, and I have a somewhat full profile of one character as he’s blossomed in my head of his own power.  I’ve been writing everything in my (badly named) plan book, just so I don’t lose anything before kickoff.

In other news, sickies are starting to lift.  Ain’t gone by a long shot, but hey, any improvement is good.  *snot-wheeze*

So yeah, in case you couldn’t gather from my Flickr feed, I have myself a car.  Nothing new.  In fact, it’s the same car I’ve been driving for years, but only because Mum was wonderful enough to share it with me for as long as I stayed under this roof, and all my activites were local.  With being a commuting student next semester, though, sharing would’ve been rather difficult.  So Mom bought herself a new 2008 Chevy Cobalt, and gave the ol’ Cavalier to me.
So that’s pretty damn nifty, if I may say so.  Now I just have to work on not wrecking it like the last hand-me-down Cavalier   Or, at least, wreck it with five gallons of something that smells better than milk.  *ribjab*  Then again, I’ve already wrecked this one once (Cockrell’s did a beautiful body job on it!), so maybe I’m safe.

Cleaning the damned thing was an all-day event.  Heh.

In other news, I think this might be year-two of being sick all summer.  At least I’m in brighter spirits this year… I just wish my guts would follow suit.
